BREAKING: 2025 five-star OL Ty Haywood has decommitted from Alabama. He is a top target for Sherrone Moore and Michigan in this recruiting cycle and is expected to be on campus this weekend for an official visit. MORE:
As first reported by On3 on Monday afternoon, 2025 five-star offensive lineman Ty Haywood has — finally — decommitted from Alabama.
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound native of Denton, Texas has been “committed” to Alabama since July, but ever since his renewed interest in Michigan and other programs was made public a couple months ago, he was never expected to end up in Tuscaloosa. This was made even more evident when he chose to not sign with Alabama during the early signing period in December and take his recruitment into the traditional February signing day.
Next up on the docket for Haywood is an official visit to Michigan this upcoming weekend. This is a prime opportunity for Sherrone Moore, Grant Newsome and company to lock things down and convince Haywood that Ann Arbor is the right fit for him.
Should Haywood commit and sign with the Wolverines, he will be the second five-star offensive lineman and the third five-star prospect of any position to do so in the 2025 class, as he would join Andrew Babalola (offensive line) and Bryce Underwood (quarterback) in that department.
Other than Michigan, the No. 20 overall player and No. 4 offensive tackle in the class is also considering Texas Tech and Florida State.
We will have more on Haywood’s recruitment when more information and updates are available.
