With the Detroit Tigers out of action, the Free Press is getting its baseball fix by simulating the Tigers’ 2020 season on “MLB The Show 20” on Playstation 4 and taking questions while doing so. Follow along with the next game at twitch.tv/freepsports at 1:08 p.m. on Monday.
The Virtual Tigers head home 1-2 after dropping the series finale to the Indians, 6-2, on Sunday afternoon.
In his first start of the Virtual 2020 season, Christin Stewart hit a two-run homer in the top of the second inning to give left-hander Daniel Norris an early lead. But Norris took the loss, allowing four runs in four-plus innings, including two home runs.
Offensively, Stewart added a double. Other than two-hit days from him and Miguel Cabrera, the Tigers did little against Indians right-hander Mike Clevinger.

How realistic is Miguel Cabrera’s comeback?
Viewer question: Is JaCoby Jones just a back-and-forth player?
Back and forth, meaning a player whose production sticks between the major league and Triple-A level? I’d say no, because with his defense in center field, especially playing home games at Comerica Park, Jones is a plus.
Offensively, he has yet to consistently execute a plan at the plate, except for a two-month stretch last season. Jones has often been injured — he missed some time this spring training — and simply hasn’t lived up to his athletic potential as a hitter.
If Jones can’t improve at the plate, he is what he is: the starting center fielder on the Tigers’ non-competitive teams. If he can, then Jones could be a key guy going forward.
Next Virtual Tigers game: 1:08 p.m. Monday vs. Royals.
