As if there was ever any doubt.
Happy Tuesday everyone! The Tigers are back in action tonight against the Rockies. While they’d be battling the altitude and Coors Field, the Rockies themselves have been slumping at an almost historical level, so hopefully the Tigers can make something work.
In the meantime, you’ll have some news to pick through this morning. For starters, red-hot Riley Greene was named the AL Player of the Week for last week. A well-earned acknowledgement, indeed, especially for a guy who was battling a slump only a few weeks ago.
We’ll get into that and more just below, so let’s just jump into it.
Detroit Tigers News:
- Riley Greene is your AL Player of the Week, and no surprise. After Greene made history on Friday with his two-home run ninth inning, and with an unquestionably hot bat, Greene had given his all to make an unbelievable turnaround in mere weeks. This is the guy who went to the All-Star game last year, and he’s certainly making a very good case for a repeat trip.
Riley Greene was named AL Player of the Week after a two-home game in Houston last Monday and a two-homer 9th inning Friday in Anaheim. He’s the first Tigers hitter to win the award since Miguel Cabrera on April 25, 2022, after he joined the 3000-hit club.
