When broadcasters have fun in the booth, everyone wins
Happy Monday everyone! This weekend the Tigers’ broadcast team garnered attention for a fun reason (better than the Red Sox announcers, whose hubris came back to bite them…) as they called an inning as if it were the Masters. It’s just further evidence of how good this broadcasting crew has become over the last season, and how much others are paying attention.
There’s plenty more to start your week off on an informed note, so grab a coffee and let’s just jump into it.
Detroit Tigers News:
We’re 40-18 in the regular season dating back to August 11, 2024.

AL Central News:
- The Twins have recognized hometown hero Joe Mauer with a statue.
- The Red Sox announcers had to eat their words in very short order after the Red Sox lost their series against the White Sox .
- If you missed it, Jose Miranda got tagged out heading back to the dugout after not realizing he was called safe during the Tigers/Twins game.
- Perhaps this won’t come as a surprise then…
Move is now official: Jose Miranda demoted, Brooks Lee activated.

MLB News:
- Mike Trout seems like a chill guy, unless you’re a fan who nabbed a ball right out of his glove, then you better watch out . (Apparently, they are cool now , but I’d be mad too)
- When those new unis remind you of something…
- A little sneak preview of the upcoming free agent class now that Vlad Jr. is off the market .
- Dodgers’ infielder Miguel Rojas had a lot of fun as a position player pitching, as he did his best impression of the real Dodgers’ pitching staff during a blowout against the Cubs .
- A real bummer for the Cubs.
Chicago Cubs left-hander Justin Steele will undergo reconstructive elbow surgery and miss the remainder of the 2025 season. Unclear yet whether it’s a full Tommy John or primary repair, but his season is over regardless. Awful news for the Cubs, who are off to a great start.
