The biggest question mark surrounding the Atlanta Braves this offseason is how they will address the starting rotation. After two seasons of dealing with drastic injuries to key members of the pitching staff, the Braves’ front office may want to take that as a hint to make meaningful moves this winter to ensure the rotation is stable and productive.
Injuries are, of course, a part of baseball, and they are hard to foresee, but Braves’ GM Alex Anthopoulos can certainly make necessary signings or trades to help the case of a strong starting staff. So, should they target Cincinnati Reds’ starter Brady Singer in the trade market?

Should the Braves Target Brady Singer in a Trade?
Some early rumors this offseason suggest that the Cincinnati Reds may be open to trading some of their key players. While the idea of ace Hunter Greene being traded has subsided recently, the Reds may also look to move off fellow starter Brady Singer.
In MLBTradeRumors.com’s top trade candidates, Brady Singer is named as a top offseason option, according to Steve Adams:
“The Reds could move Singer and still roll with a rotation of Greene, Abbott, Lodolo, Burns, Petty and Lowder. If theyâre worried about the lost innings thatâd come by dealing Singer, they could backfill his spot in the rotation with a late offseason addition.”

Singer is still arbitration-eligible and still has a few seasons to go before he’s a free agent. This should absolutely be a name the Atlanta Braves target this offseason. Brady Singer posted a 4.03 ERA in 169.2 innings and has recorded a bWAR of 3.1 in each of the last two seasons. He’s also made 25+ starts in three straight seasons.
If the Braves did decide to make a move for Singer, they would likely have to give up a couple of hitting prospects and maybe a bullpen arm like Aaron Bummer.

Braves’ Pitching Staff Outlook Headed into 2026
The Braves have a lot of moving parts at the moment in terms of their pitching staff. Most notably, Atlanta just reached an agreement with closer Raisel Iglesias on a one-year, $16 million contract.
Another free agent decision they will have to make is regarding Pierce Johnson. Additionally, Joe Jimenez remains injured, and his return timetable is unclear.
Spender Schwellenbach and Chris Sale are expected to be fully healthy by Spring Training, but the Braves must remain active this offseason.
Brady Singer’s name will be an interesting one to keep an eye out for as the offseason progresses as a potential trade target for MLB teams with hopes of competing for the playoffs in 2026.
