January 17, 2026 by Heavy

The NFC Championship kicks off on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. Eastern on Fox. Seattle will host the NFC Championship regardless of the winner of the Rams-Bears game since the Seahawks are the No. 1 seed.

Seaahwks QB Sam Darnold Did Not Appear Hampered by Injury

The good news for the Seahawks, aside from the team’s play against the Niners, is that quarterback Sam Darnold did not show any major signs of the oblique injury impacting his play. It undoubtedly helped Darnold that the Seahawks scored a touchdown on the very first play of the game.

Once the game settled down, Darnold looked poised and in control throughout the game. As expected, the Seahawks leaned on the team’s potent rushing attack and elite defense which took the pressure off Darnold. Unless Darnold suffers a setback, it does not appear that the quarterback’s injury will be a factor in the NFC Championship.

Would the Seahawks Rather Play the Bears or Rams in the NFC Championship?

With the Seahawks’ dominant victory, the big question who Seattle would rather face between the Rams and Bears. Given Darnold’s treacherous history against the Rams defense, the answer is probably the Bears.

The lookhead lines had the Seahawks as a heavy favorite against the Bears in a hypothetical matchup. Seattle was a slight home underdog in the lookahead spread against Los Angeles.
