Patrick Mahomes Has No Words for Wife Brittany’s Career Announcement

November 6, 2025 by Heavy

The Kansas City Chiefs enter the bye week on a sour note following their 28-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes didn’t complete a rushing or passing touchdown for the first time since the 2024 season against Buffalo. “I got to be better working the pocket, find different lanes to step up through,” Mahomes told reporters.

“But when I was able to, we were able to hit some shots down the field, but I’ve just got to be more consistent with that.”

Mahomes also sent a clear message on the Chiefs’ goal during the break. “We got to be more consistent as a team. I got to be more consistent as a quarterback, and we got to be able to battle. I mean, we’ve kind of been in a lot of these tight, close games in our history, but they’re not going our way now.

“So how can we deal with that adversity?… You got to kind of learn from it fast, and it’s gonna be an uphill battle when we get back, but I think our guys are up to it.”

While the Chiefs regroup, Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes , are also preparing for the 2025 NWSL postseason. Brittany, a former soccer player, is a founding co-owner of the Kansas City Current, along with owners Chris and Angie Long. Mahomes joined as a co-owner in January 2023.

Before the Current face Gotham FC in the quarterfinals of the playoffs on November 9, however, Brittany announced she’s taking her NWSL career to the next level.

Brittany Mahomes Joined the NWSL’s Star-Studded Advisory Board to ‘Help Steer’ The League’s Future

Following the Current’s historic success this year, Brittany is joining an A-list group to help the NWSL continue to grow.

Boardroom and the NWSL posted on Thursday, November 6, “The league announced the formation of a new advisory board made up of athletes, investors, and cultural icons who will focus on marketing, branding, fan engagement, and player initiatives starting in 2026.”

“Commissioner Jessica Berman says the group will serve as mentors and cultural connectors while helping expand the league’s reach through partnerships and appearances in NWSL campaigns — a move that underscores the growing influence of women’s sports.”

Mahomes proudly posted the announcement on his Instagram Stories without further comment.

Other members of the inaugural advisory board include Eli Manning, Magic Johnson, Ken Griffey Jr., Sue Bird, Lindsay Vonn, Aly Raisman, Chris Paul , Brandi Chastain, and more.

The Current, the No. 1 ranked team in the league, broke numerous records this season. They became the fastest team to clinch the NWSL Shield, the first team to win 20 league matches in a season, and scored the most points in a single season (62 points).

Four years after the KC Current played their first game of the 2021 season, they’ve become the second-most valuable franchise in the NWSL. Despite being the fourth-smallest market team, the Current owns the second-highest valuation of $275 million.

After opening CPKC Stadium, the first premier sports venue built primarily for a women’s sports team, Forbes reported that the KC Current generated a league-high $36 million in revenue in 2024.

Over the summer, the Longs announced a $52 million investment in a three-tiered expansion of the team’s facilities in Riverside, Missouri. They broke ground in July on building Riverside Stadium, a 35,000-square-foot performance center, and a pitch expansion.
