Not just baseball… all sports.
How do we define greatness? Is it longevity? Is it consistency? Is it the most awards, or most dazzling feats? I think it can be hard to define what is great, because it’s more of a gut feeling than it is a checklist to complete. You know greatness when you see it.
Since the Tigers are off today, our off-topic discussion will shift to general sports. We want to know who you think the greatest athlete of ANY sport is. This can be totally biased, based on the teams you have followed all your lives. Or it can be a general awareness of great athletes in non-baseball sports. You, of course, can select a baseball player, if you think Babe Ruth or Nolan Ryan or Ted Williams deserve the nod.
Perhaps, though, you look at other great names like Tiger Woods, Tom Brady, Wayne Gretzky, Michael Jordan, or the Williams sisters, Venus and Serena. There are so many incredible athletes in other sports this will be a hard one to narrow down, but we want to know: who do you think is the greatest of all time, in ANY sport?
