Because baseball sadly doesn’t go all year.
I will be the first to admit, that while I am a huge baseball fan, I am not a “sports” fan. During the offseason, I don’t pick up on any other sports to fill the void, though I have been tempted a few times by basketball and soccer (sorry, “football” to all those Europeans reading).
I am, however, from Winnipeg. And, beyond expectation for Winnipeg, the Jets have actually been quite good at hockey recently, which means it comes up in conversation enough that I’ve started to check the game scores. I used to go to Jets games quite frequently during their original tenure in Winnipeg and still love live hockey, I just don’t typically bother to follow it when I’m not in-person.
But I know a lot of our readers love sports. And especially Detroit sports. So I’m curious, what other sports do you follow, and what teams are you a fan of? In an effort to attempt to become a fan of other sports I did once pick teams (Portland Trailblazers and, for heaven knows what reason, the Tottenham Hotspurs), but I’ve yet to actually commit the time to watching games. I’d love to know who everyone else watches when baseball isn’t on.
