Gleyber Torres and Riley Greene rank on the All-Star starting roster in early voting

Tigers position players are doing pretty well in Phase 1 voting, but you can still cast your votes today.

The first phase of fan voting for the 2025 MLB All-Star game roster doesn’t end until June 26. However, MLB released early returns from the vote count on Monday. So far, the Detroit Tigers are rightly pretty well represented. Gleyber Torres was the top vote getter to start at second base as of the first public update on the ballot, while Riley Greene was in second place to Aaron Judge in the outfield, which is grouped together for all three outfield positions.

Several other Tigers are representing well but not leading at their positions.

Spencer Torkelson’s comeback season has him fourth in AL voting at first base. Paul Goldschmidt and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. are first and second at this point. Jonathan Aranda of the Rays is currently third.

Zach McKinstry holds the fourth ranked vote total at third base. The Guardians Jose Ramirez and the Red Sox Alex Bregman are first and second in AL third base voting. Addison Berger of the Blue Jays is third.

Dillon Dingler is third in the AL in the catcher vote, and while Cal Raleigh makes sense as the top vote getter, Alejandro Kirk is in second place. He and Dingler’s numbers are very comparable offensively, but Dingler is both a rookie and the better defensive catcher by a huge margin, so it would be nice to see him get up into that second place spot.

So the Tigers have rightly gotten a fair bit of love from voters in the early going. Beyond Greene, they also have Javier Báez fifth in AL outfield voting, with Kerry Carpenter seventh.

Trey Sweeney got votes but is well down the list among shortstops, while Colt Keith is in the designated hitter category and well down in the voting as well.

And of course, Tarik Skubal should be the top starting pitcher, but the selection process for pitchers isn’t part of the voting.

We’re still nine days away from voting in phase one coming to an end, so we won’t go into much deeper, but it’s a good time to go vote for the Tigers.

You can vote up to five times on one account. The link to the ballot is right here.
