The M’s come into town second in the American League West, seven games behind the first-place Houston Astros and 2.5 games ahead of the third-place Texas Rangers . They have evenly split their last 10 games while bringing just a plus-11 run differential into play.
Meanwhile, the Tigers have a three-game lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers for the best record in all of Major League Baseball, along with a commanding 13-game lead in the Central over the Kansas City Royals .
