Detroit went 4-2 on its recent road trip and looks to continue that success inside Comerica Park.
The Detroit Tigers return home to the comfortable confines of Comerica Park on Thursday after a successful six-game road swing that saw the team win four of their six matchups and two consecutive series. Things culminated Wednesday afternoon with a 5-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals in the rubber match.
The Motor City Kitties will remain in town for the next seven games, starting with a quartet against fellow American League Central rival, the Cleveland Guardians . Detroit currently holds a six-game lead over them in the division, as well as a 5.5-game advantage on the Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals .
Things start on Thursday evening with the Tigers sending right-hander Jack Flaherty to the mound in hopes that he can get back to his dominant self. The Guardians will have righty Tanner Bibee, who has a bit struggled himself, to the bump as well.
