The Tigers take on the Rockies in a three-game set held at Coors Field.
The Detroit Tigers open up the final leg of their 10-game road trip on Tuesday night against the Colorado Rockies in a matchup between one of the best teams in the league versus one of the worst.
AJ Hinch and Co. come in with the best record in the American League, and just behind the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets , respectively, for the top tally in the majors. The home team — particularly record-wise — has been the worst in the sport and is the only remaining franchise with single-digit wins this season so far.
While this series looks ripe for a sweep, Tigers fans know better than to bring the hubris ahead of such a lopsided affair. Just take it one game at a time, and the good guys should emerge with yet another series win.
In the opener, Detroit sends out Jackson Jobe to the mound while Colorado has Chase Dollander taking the bump.

Jackson Jobe stumbles in last outing
Detroit’s highly-heralded rookie hit a wall against the Houston Astros last time out, lasting just four frames while allowing three runs on four hits (one home run) and four walks while striking out four, taking a no-decision in the team win.
That regression ended a two-game streak in which he won both while allowing just a run on seven hits and three walks while striking out seven over 11 innings. The Rox seems like a good opponent against which Jobe can get his groove back.
Chase Dollander getting off ground in rookie season
The 23-year-old has had a rough start to his major league career, but may have turned the corner in his last start against the Atlanta Braves , against whom he threw 5 2⁄3 frames of one-run ball on two hits and three walks while striking out four for the win.
Prior to that, Dollander put up a 7.36 ERA and 8.73 FIP stretching across 14 2⁄3 innings and four starts. In his first three appearances this season, he surrendered at least two home runs per game, including a whopping four against the San Diego Padres . While he has suppressed the long ball of late, Detroit’s recent power surge may spell trouble for the right-hander.
