The Tigers fell short on Saturday night but get one more chance to earn a four-game series win on Sunday afternoon.
The Detroit Tigers ’ three-game winning streak was snapped on Saturday night by the Los Angeles Angels, who successfully defended their home field from the booming Bengals by a final score of 5-2 .
Things came unglued for the good guys in the sixth inning, when starter Jack Flaherty gave up four of the five runs he surrendered on the day — only four of which were earned. Meanwhile, Liam Hendricks somehow made it through 7 2⁄3 frames for the Halos in the winning effort.
Fear not, Tigers fans, for the Olde English D gets one more shot at earning a series win out west on Sunday afternoon. Baby-face Reese Olson takes the bump for the Motor City Kitties while second-year hurler Jack Kochanowicz gets the call from the home team.
