After splitting the first two games of the series, Detroit can still win its fifth-straight with a victory over Milwaukee.
The Detroit Tigers missed an opportunity to win their fifth-straight series on Tuesday night against the Milwaukee Brewers after getting shut out, 5-0. Fret not, Tiger fans, they still have a chance to seal the deal on Wednesday afternoon in the rubber match held at American Family Field.
It was tough seeing the opposition put up goose eggs against one of the best offenses in the American League — currently, anyway — as well as one of their aces struggling. The team called up Keider Montero for the final game of the road trip in place of Reese Olson, who was initially slated to start.
The young Montero will face an old grizzled veteran on the hill in Jose Quintana and will be looking to get his team back on the winning track. Here is a look at how they match up.

Keider Montero makes 2025 debut
Montero takes the bump in an MLB game for the first time this season on Wednesday, looking to take a step forward from last year’s efforts. The 24-year-old earned a 1-1 record in AAA Toledo in two starts tossing 9 2⁄3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk.
Jose Quintana looks to build on last outing
Quintana already made his first big league start of the campaign last Friday after being called up to bolster the Brew Crew’s pitching staff. The 14-year veteran threw seven frames of scoreless ball on four hits and zero walks while striking out a pair of Arizona Diamondbacks en route to the win.
