The Tigers continued their winning ways on Monday behind Skubal and can keep it going Tuesday behind Flaherty.
The Detroit Tigers hit the double-digit win mark on Monday night with a 9-1 beating of the Milwaukee Brewers on the road.
Tarik Skubal threw his second-straight scoreless outing and quality start, allowing four hits and no walks over six frames while striking out nine for his second win of the 2025 campaign. Andy Ibañez led the offense with two hits and two RBI, and Kerry Carpenter went deep for the fifth time this season.
That victory sets the table for AJ Hinch’s crew to earn their fifth-straight series win. What is wild is that during that stretch, the Motor City Kitties have won the first two games of every series only to stumble in the finale of four of those. Only against the Chicago White Sox could they seal the deal… but let us not get ahead of ourselves just yet.
Things look to be in the Tigers’ favor as Jack Flaherty takes the bump opposite Quinn Priester. Take a look at how they match up below.

Jack Flaherty toes the mound for Tigers
Bringing Flaherty back to Detroit is already paying decent dividends after three starts so far in 2025. The righty has topped the five-inning mark in all of his appearances and has become more and more stingy as time goes on.
The 29-year-old allowed two runs on three hits (including his only home run allowed so far) and two walks while striking out five in 5 2⁄3 innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers . Next time out, he only surrendered one run on three hits and two walks while striking out seven Chicago White Sox batters over 5 2⁄3 frames for the win.
Last time out against the New York Yankees , he shut them out over 5 1⁄3 innings on three apiece of hits and walks while striking out an eye-popping nine hitters. One can only hope this trajectory continues.
Brewers stick with Priester as Tuesday’s starter
The Brewers are dealing with some starting rotation issues as injuries have plagued their pitching staff, resulting in Jose Quintana being called up from Triple-A Nashville on Friday to make his Milwaukee debut. Despite a temporary logjam after the call-up, former Tiger Elvin Rodriguez was sent to the bullpen while Tuesday night’s starter held onto his spot.
Priester has just one start so far that accounts for all five of his innings pitched, allowing one run on six hits (one dinger) and two walks while striking out four Colorado Rockies . The third-year hurler’s 1.60 WHIP so far is of concern, but it is also limited by the significantly small sample size.
