Brayden McNabb Inks Contract Extension in Vegas
The Saskatchewan native was originally drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. The third-round selection has done well to put together a respectable career over his 13 years in the show. Moreover, he has been a steady force on the Vegas blueline over his time there, averaging 19:42 minutes a game in 518 games. He has collected 111 points in that time. This is all the while playing little to no power play time, but being one of their regular penalty killers. Furthermore, he has been a key component for the Golden Knights on their many trips to the postseason. He has played 88 games in the playoffs for Vegas, again averaging a big 20:02. The ice time is notable in that he doesn’t get power play time. Also, he was an important part of the 2023 Stanley Cup championship team.

What Does McNabb Mean to the Golden Knights
At nearly 34 years old, there has been little indication of him slowing down. This means he has grown smarter, an imperative skill to be a relied upon NHL defensive defenceman. Vegas and McNabb are glad to have one another as the ‘Golden Misfit‘ found his home in the NHL. McNabb has also done so, playing with different partners. A truly underrated attribute to go out and perform with whoever the coach tells you to play alongside. This season he has played with Shea Theodore , Zach Whitecloud , and Kaedan Korczak . Therefore, he mixes playing against top matchups, with Theodore, to help develop players like a Korczak. He has been and continues to be an invaluable piece to the Golden Knights kingdom.
