The Golden Knights Story
The Golden Knights battled injuries as they went up against the Seattle Kraken on Friday, ultimately falling in overtime at a score of 4-3. In the game, they were without their Captain, Mark Stone , who had sustained a lower-body injury prior to the game. Both Mark Stone and goaltender Ilya Samsonov remain listed as day-to-day, and their return for tonight’s game is uncertain. Meanwhile, due to Nicolas Hague ’s presence on the injured reserve, he will be a certain no-show for this match. Jack Eichel has had a great start and leads the team in points with 22 including 18 assists and four goals.
The Hurricanes Story
The Canes just faced the Colorado Avalanche on a snow-covered Saturday night. It was a 6-4 loss to the home team, effectively ending the Carolina Hurricanes eight-game winning-streak. After Goaltender Frederik Andersen was placed on the injured reserve due to an undisclosed injury, Pyotr Kochetkov had been filling the crease for five games straight. In Saturday’s game, however, it was covered by Spencer Martin in relief. Martin Necas continues his hot start and leads the team in points with 23.
Prediction: Carolina Hurricanes at Vegas Golden Knights
The Vegas Golden Knights and Carolina Hurricanes are pretty evenly matched. In comparison, the Golden Knights have outscored the Canes with 61 goals to 54. However, the goaltending situation favours the Canes, with a shared Save Value of .903, a Goals Against Average of 2.39, and only 31 goals allowed.
As for your rather unusual statistics for these teams. The Canes and Golden Knights have only played each other 12 times total. The wins are pretty split, all things considered, with the Canes edging them out with seven. However, the Golden Knights have one interesting streak. In the eight games played in T-Mobile Arena this season, they have yet to lose one.
Prediction: Hurricanes win 5-4 in overtime
Your Prop Bets of the Night
Tonight’s game will be at an over/under of 6.5 goals, while under appears to be the favoured choice, per Bet365 . As for the who and why, the Canes Andrei Svechnikov (+200) makes a mean case for being an anytime goal scorer with a fair return, alongside the Golden Knight’s Pavel Dorofeyev (+225). For a (relatively) safer choice, considering anytime points from Martin Necas (-175) or even Jack Eichel (-290) could prove to be worth it.
