NHL Predictions

Vancouver Canucks vs Tampa Bay Lightning

2024-25 Season Series: Canucks 0-2 Lightning

How to Watch :

U.S. TV: The Spot; ESPN+

Canada TV: SN Pacific

Time: 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EDT)

We open up the NHL predictions with the Vancouver Canucks visiting the Tampa Bay Lightning. Kevin Lankinen is expected to get the start for Vancouver, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. The Canucks are 4-4-2 in the last 10 games, including losses in their previous three games. Elias Pettersson is tops in points so far this campaign with 15.

Jonas Johansson will likely get the start with Tampa Bay playing the night before. The Lightning picked up a victory over the rival Florida Panthers on Saturday night. Tampa Bay is 8-2 in its last 10 games entering this matchup. Jake Guentzel leads a balanced attack with 16 points, but four others have double-digit points.

Tampa Bay has been playing well in recent games and should get the victory.

Vegas Golden Knights vs Minnesota Wild

2024-25 Season Series: Golden Knights 3-0 Wild

How to Watch:

U.S. TV:  Scripps Vegas; Fan Duel Sports North; Fan Duel Sports Wisconsin; ESPN+

Canada TV: Sportsnet

Time: 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EDT)

Prediction: Golden Knights win 5-3.

Detroit Red Wings vs New York Rangers

Head-to-Head: Red Wings 0-1 Rangers

How to Watch:

U.S. TV:  MSG; Fan Duel Sports Detroit; NHL Network

Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)

Our featured game of NHL predictions has the Red Wings battling the Rangers. Cam Talbot is the expected starter for Detroit, which is 5-4-1 in the last 10 games. The Wings are coming off an overtime loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. Dylan Larkin is first on the team in goals (11) and points (22), but Lucas Raymond is tops in assists with 14.

Jonathan Quick is the projected starter with the Blueshirts, who are winners of their last three games in a row. New York is 7-3 in the last 10 games, but is 1-6-1 at Madison Square Garden this season. William Cuylle and Mika Zibanejad are tied for first in goals with six each. A newly-bald Artemi Panarin is first in points with 17.

Both teams are coming off overtime games on Saturday, but the Rangers get their second straight win at home.

Prediction: Rangers win 4-3.

New York Islanders vs Colorado Avalanche

2024-25 Season Series: Islanders 2-0 Avalanche

How to Watch:

U.S. TV:  Altitude; MSGSN; ESPN+

Canada TV: Sportsnet

Time: 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EDT)

Our last game of NHL predictions has the New York Islanders taking on the Colorado Avalanche . Ilya Sorokin is the likely starter for the Islanders, who are winners of their last four games. New York is 6-3-1 in the last 10 games entering this matchup. Bo Horvat is either first or tied for first on the team in goals, assists, and points.

Colorado is expected to start newly-extended goalie Scott Wedgewood in this game. The Avs have taken their last five consecutive games and are 7-1-2 in the last 10 games. Nathan MacKinnon is first on the team in goals (14), assists (19), and points (33) so far for Colorado.

This should be a good one, but take the home team in this one.

Prediction: Avalanche win 4-3.

Prop Bets of the Night

We round out NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. Let’s go back to our featured game for our favourite props. The over/under for the Red Wings versus the Rangers is 5.5, and we like the over in this game.

As for individual props, go with Patrick Kane to score an anytime goal against one of his former teams for Detroit. On the New York side of things, take Adam Fox to get at least one power-play point.
