This upcoming free agent class might not look the strongest, but there are a few names that can make a real fantasy impact. Last year, we got guys like Klay Thompson , Isaiah Hartenstein , and Tobias Harris who made huge impacts on their teams. This article will go through the top three upcoming free agents and their best landing spots. As of now, we don’t know how the team and player options will play out, so we will only talk about the unrestricted free agents. This list also could change depending on the NBA Draft. With that being said, let’s get into it.
The Top 3 Free Agents Destinations for Fantasy Basketball
1) Myles Turner – Los Angeles Lakers
It seems like Myles Turner is in trade rumors every season, but this time, he might get a chance to play for another team. The Pacers still have his bird rights, but Turner could very well be leaving this offseason. The perfect landing spot? It’s the Los Angeles Lakers. Turner would fit seamlessly into this group of guys, as the Lakers desperately need a center. Turner would become a lob threat for Luka Doncic , as well as a floor spacer, and an interior defensive anchor. This past season, Turner averaged 15.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. He also averaged 2 blocks per game, adding to his fantasy value. If Turner were to go to the Lakers this offseason, I can see his per-game averages being very similar, with opportunity for some growth. Luka always makes his centers into better players, and that could easily happen with Turner.
2) Malik Beasley – Detroit Pistons

This past season, Malik Beasley was one of many great acquisitions for the Pistons. Beasley averaged 16.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists this season, while playing all 82 games. He also finished second in total three-pointers made this season with 319 and shattered the Pistons’ franchise record for made threes in a season. After the season Beasley had, it’s hard to imagine a world where he is better in a different situation. Re-signing Beasley should be a top priority for the Pistons, as he opened up a lot of things for their offense. Beasley averaged 22.9 fantasy points this season, and with a possible Dennis Schroder departure, those averages could go up even higher. It would be a huge mistake for the Pistons to let Beasley walk; his best fantasy impact should keep him in Detroit.
3) Ty Jerome – Orlando Magic
After reviving his career this season, Ty Jerome was one of the best offensive guards in basketball this season. Although Jerome didn’t play the most minutes, he was extremely efficient in the minutes he got. This past season, he averaged 22.7 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per 36 minutes. Jerome was simply one of the most efficient offensive guards in the league in the minutes he played. And, the Orlando Magic is the perfect destination for a guy like him. The one thing that the Magic are missing is an offensive creator at the guard position. With Kentavious Caldwell-Pope not living up to standard, there is a world where Jerome would start for this team. Jerome fits nicely alongside this young group of elite defenders, and his fantasy value would skyrocket if the Magic picked him up this offseason.
Honorable Mentions and Wrap-Up
These three guys are the best free agents available right now, but other good players can have an impact as well. Caris LeVert , Clint Capela , and Nickeil Alexander-Walker are also notable free agents. As mentioned before, the NBA Draft and other things have not yet happened. So, we won’t know for sure how these guys will fit with their new or current rosters. But good players will find a way to make an impact on the court and in fantasy basketball. Malik Beasley, Ty Jerome, and Myles Turner will all be guys to look for come next fantasy season.
