Teams With A Realistic Chance To Trade For Devin Booker

March 11, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Basketball

The Suns are set to make some major offseason changes . Everyone assumes they will trade Kevin Durant this summer, but some are wondering if an even bigger shake-up could happen. One interesting option is resetting everything by trading Devin Booker for a load of assets. One report recently claimed the Suns could probably get four first-round draft picks and a great young player if Booker was put on the trade block. Let’s take a look at three different teams that have the assets to become realistic Devin Booker trade destinations this summer.

Teams With A Realistic Chance To Trade For Devin Booker

Booker Heads to New York

No, the Knicks likely don’t have enough assets to get Booker. However, their little brother in Brooklyn surely does. The Nets have never been afraid to chase stars, and Booker could realistically become their next target. Brooklyn has three first-round draft picks in this year’s loaded NBA draft and four more over the next two years.

The Nets could also sweeten the pot with one of their young assets. Cam Thomas , Cameron Johnson and Nic Claxton are all valuable trade pieces. That being said, none of them are on track to become NBA stars so the Nets would have to make this a pick-heavy package. Thomas will also become a restricted free agent in the offseason.

Devin Booker Trade Makes Thunder a Superteam

This one should make the league very, very worried. The Thunder have the best team in the Western Conference but also boast one of the nicest collection of future draft picks. If they were able to pair Booker with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander , the Thunder could become even more dominant than they already are.

There is a world where the Thunder wouldn’t even need to give up a ton of picks to get Booker as well. Jalen Williams could be included as a potential young star for the Suns to build around. The Thunder would pick up a veteran star in their prime and accelerate their contending timeline. One thing to note is that the Thunder are already title contenders. We need to wait and see how successful they are in the playoffs before knowing if they are a realistic Devin Booker trade destination.

Pistons Attempt to Contend in the East

The Detroit Pistons are no longer one of the worst teams in the league. It looks like they will make the playoffs in the East.  They probably won’t even need to play in the Play-In Tournament. If the Pistons make some noise in the playoffs, they could try and strike while the iron is hot by pairing Cade Cunningham with another NBA star.

The Pistons could throw plenty of picks into a Booker trade. They also have some young potential that the Suns might want to roll the dice on. Jaden Ivey , Jalen Duren , and Ausar Thompson have all shown the potential to be great. The Suns might have their eyes on one of them to sweeten the deal. The Pistons could easily part with one of those players and still take a step forward next season with Booker on the roster.
