The Las Vegas Raiders can’t seem to find the right mix of players that will help lead to wins. Following the latest loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, the team has made a few smaller moves.
The Raiders announced on Tuesday that they’ve signed cornerback Greedy Vance Jr. to the active roster.
Vance signed with Las Vegas as an undrafted free agent after spending a year at USC. He showed some promising signs in the preseason, but couldn’t make it to the active roster during final cuts. He has had a chance to play in two games for the team this season, but should get even more snaps now.
In the two games he did play, the Raiders had him take snaps on defense and not special teams, so they must see him as a potential rotational defensive back. Las Vegas’ secondary has struggled all season, so there should be an opportunity for him to show what he can do.
Vance doesn’t have the size or speed that Pete Carroll usually likes in his cornerbacks, but the Raiders just need defensive backs who can make stops. With only a handful of games left in the season, this will be Vance’s best chance to prove that he deserves to be with the team in 2026.
Jamin Davis & Greg Joseph Cut
To make room for Vance on the active roster, the Raiders decided to waive linebacker Jamin Davis. The former first-round pick only appeared in the game against the Dallas Cowboys , but hasn’t been on the field otherwise.
He was on the practice squad previously, so there’s a chance the Raiders could bring him back, but they may rather focus on adding younger players the rest of the way.
The team also released kicker Greg Joseph from the practice squad. He was brought in during Daniel Carlson’s slump, but the former All-Pro seems to be back on track. He should be the kicker the rest of the season, but he’s on an expiring deal and could be playing his final games in Las Vegas, especially if he misses more kicks down the stretch.
