Enjoy a little afternoon basketball on MLK Day

Detroit kicks off a five-game road trip with a tough test against the Houston Rockets for some afternoon MLK Day basketball. The Rockets play stifling defense, are on a roll as a team, and have the kinds of offensive weapons that tend to give the Pistons fits in Alperen Sengun and some savvy veteran shooters. It’s also a night where Jalen Green, who is becoming more consistent offensively, could explode.

The Pistons will need to take care of the basketball and get a better shooting performance from star guard Cade Cunningham. His shot looked particularly flat in the team’s loss to the Phoenix Suns , and he’s been struggling for a bit. A bounceback game could go a long way in getting Detroit back in the winning column and not falling below .500.
