Pistons look for four-game sweep on road trip
The Detroit Pistons are looking to win their fourth consecutive road game, but will have to outplay Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets to do it.
Jokic remains an MVP candidate and one of the top players in the NBA, but these Denver Nuggets are a bit more vulnerable than in years’ past. The Nuggets are playing the second half of a back-to-back a night after giving up a season-high 149 points in a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers .
The Nuggets are one of the worst defenses in the NBA this season, and now they are trying to make things work without their one bonafide great defender in Aaron Gordon.
The Pistons will have a chance to capitalize on a leaky defense, but that means they need to hit shots and limit turnovers. If they cough up the ball, this Denver offense is too much to overcome.
One benefit for the Pistons is the return of big man Isaiah Stewart, who has been out with a hyperextended knee. Stewart can’t stop Jokic, but at least he can make him work for his points.
