Pistons will look to bounce back after last-second loss to the Charlotte Hornets
The Detroit Pistons will face the Atlanta Hawks tonight without center Jalen Duren, who is being held out as he recovers from an ankle injury. Duren’s injury was suffered early in the Pistons’ last-second 108-107 loss to the Charlotte Hornets. Duren’s absence didn’t impact Detroit much because the Hornets were also playing without several big men. Things could get tougher as the Hawks field Clint Capela and Onyeka Okongwu at the five. Luckily, the center position has much better depth for Detroit than in year’s past, and Isaiah Stewart and Paul Reed are capable of playing at a high level. While this is Detroit’s first look at reigning No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher, the matchup I am most interested in will be the one between two promising off guards. Both Jaden Ivey for Detroit and Dyson Daniels for the Hawks have played exceedingly well early this season. Their performance tonight could set the tone for the game.
