The Detroit Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves reportedly reached an agreement a day before the NBA’s trade deadline.
Per The Athletic’s Shams Charania , the Pistons are sending guard Monte Morris to Minnesota for guard Shake Milton, forward Troy Brown Jr., and a second-round pick.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said Detroit won’t receive the draft pick until 2030.

Morris averaged a career-high 12.6 points per game in his fifth and final season with the Denver Nuggets in 2021-22. He set a personal benchmark with 5.3 assists per game when starting 61 of 62 games played for the Washington Wizards last season.
A quadriceps injury sidelined Morris for nearly three months to start his first season in Detroit. Since making his debut on Jan. 24, the 28-year-old has registered 4.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.3 rebounds in six games off the bench.
Morris has averaged just 0.8 turnovers per game during his career, a positive for a young Wolves squad that ranks 27th in the category.
Minnesota is currently in a four-way tie atop the Western Conference at 35-16. Led by Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Rudy Gobert, the Wolves could reach 50 wins for the first season in 20 years, also the last time they advanced past the postseason’s opening round.
Meanwhile, the Pistons have won just six games all season. The NBA’s worst team has its sights set on the future.
They picked up Brown, a 2018 first-round pick going to his fifth team in the last four seasons. The 24-year-old is averaging 4.2 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.
Milton had 4.7 points, 1.3 boards, and 1.3 assists in 38 games for Minnesota.
Detroit made another move Wednesday when acquiring forward Simone Fontecchio from the Utah Jazz.
