The Detroit Pistons lost their 25th straight game on Thursday night, falling to 2-26 on the season.
When a team loses 25 in a row, there’s not much you can say. Pistons fans said plenty though, chanting “Sell the team” late in the fourth quarter at Little Caesars Arena.
Their anger, despair and desperation could be heard through the television broadcast.

Since Tom Gores took over as the sole owner of the Pistons in September 2015, the franchise has made the playoffs twice and posted just one winning season.
Coming off a three-straight campaigns of 50 or more losses, including a 17-65 showing in 2022-23, there were some legitimate causes for hope for the Pistons entering this season.
The team has some apparent building blocks in 22-year-old guard Cade Cunningham, 20-year-old center Jalen Duren and 20-year-old rookie forward Ausar Thompson. Detroit also hired Monty Williams, who made the playoffs three times and reached the NBA Finals once with the Phoenix Suns, as head coach.
The Pistons won two of their first three games, but have not notched a victory since Oct. 28. That’s almost two full months of futility, and loyal fans are justifiably fed up.
