Harris entered the league as a second-round draft pick for the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014. After two seasons with his first team, the former UVA standout was traded to Brooklyn before the 2016-17 NBA season.
Through 74 games this past season, Harris notched the lowest points per game average (7.6) since his first campaign with the Nets. That being said, he still shot greater than 40% from three-point range for the sixth straight season.
Harris, the 2019 3-Point Contest champion, has a career three-point percentage of 43.7, averaging more than two makes per game. In Detroit, the 31-year-old guard/forward should provide an instant boost of scoring and veteran leadership.
While Harris served in a more reserve role with the Nets, he’ll likely take on a bigger role with Monty Williams’ Detroit squad this coming season.
