The Detroit Lions are up against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, December 4, in a Thursday Night Football spectacle. The Lions have a 7-5 record and are third in the NFC North, so to say they need this win is truly an understatement.
The Lions dropped their game against the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving, and now, both the Packers and Chicago Bears are well above them in the division. The Dallas Cowboys, meanwhile, are coming off a win over the Kansas City Chiefs and looking strong.
So, the Detroit Lions need all the help they can get on Thursday, and unfortunately, they just announced a last-minute setback that could come back to haunt the team.
“Well, I guess what I’m saying is this, just with kind of where we’re at with the division,” head coach Dan Campbell said after the team’s loss to the Packers. “It’s more that you need a little help. You’ve got to do your job, you’ve got to win and you need a little help. And that’s what it is. But it all starts with you doing your job, which is us, and finding a way to win the next one in front of us.”
Detroit Lions Put 1 Player on Injured Reserve and Rule Another Out
The Detroit Lions need as many healthy starters as possible to take on the Cowboys. On Thursday, December 4, the team announced some last-minute injury updates, and they’re rough.
Offensive lineman Kayode Awosika has been downgraded to out for the gam against Dallas. Also, tight end Brock Wright has been placed on injured reserve .
To make up for the losses, the team has also announced that they’ve signed cornerback Nick Whiteside to the active roster from the practice squad and elevated wide receiver Malik Cunningham from the practice squad to the active/inactive list.
So, as is always the case before game, the Detroit Lions are shuffling and making the best of what players are available. Let’s hope for the Lions’ sake it’s a strong enough lineup to go up against A-list leaders such as Dallas Cowboys star players Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb .
Jameson Williams Talks Detroit Lions vs Dallas Cowboys
Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams opened up about the game against the Dallas Cowboys this week. Even though the Cowboys are fierce contenders, Williams says that the Lions are prepared.
“We’ve seen these guys two of my first three years in the league,” he said. “We know what they can do and know these defensive back’s tendencies. We know how to attack them. That’s a huge shout-out to the coaches. They put in extra work for us and tell us what they see and we do extra work, too.”
Williams is wrapping up a banner year with the Lions. According to ESPN research , the receiver has clocked 706 yards and six touchdowns this season. Williams, Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown have been a force to contend with on the offensive line, but unfortunately, St. Brown is also out due to an injury.
