Kevin Durant’s Remarkable Stat After Impressive Performance Against Memphis

January 28, 2026 by Heavy

Kevin Durant continues to show that he can dominate on the court at 37. During the Houston Rockets recent win over the Memphis Grizzlies, Durant finished with 33 points and eight rebounds.

It was the third consecutive game in which Durant scored 30 plus points. He became the fifth player in NBA history to score 30 plus points in three straight games after turning 37. The other players on that list are LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Michael Jordan, and Karl Malone.

Durant has established himself as one of the top scorers in the history of the game. He’s not letting his age slow him down one bit as he continues to go out there and play at a high level.

Durant has been on a scoring tear during his last three games. On Jan. 22, the Rockets suffered a  128-122 overtime loss to the Philadelphia 76ers . Durant did all he could that game, as he led his team with 36 points and knocking down five threes. The next day he would follow up with a 32-point performance in a win against the Detroit Pistons . Houston ended Detroit’s four-game winning streak behind a strong performance from Durant.

Durant praised Houston’s training staff after the win over Detroit. “We’ve got a great coaching staff,” Durant said . “Great training staff. They keep me ready. They keep me engaged, mentally and physically.”

Through 42 games this season, Durant is averaging 36.9 minutes per game. He’s logging a lot of minutes and he’s making the most of his time out there on the court. “I feel great. That’s what I’m paid to do. I get paid 50-something million dollars to be available and play, and be there for my team whenever they need me to be there, so it’s one me to prepare the right way so I can be ready for 40-plus minutes. I’m preparing for 48 minutes a night,” he said .

Kevin Durant Continues to Play at a High Level

Durant is averaging 26.4 points which is top-15 in the league currently. When it comes to scoring and playing at a high level, Durant has never had an issue with that. There’s a good chance that he will make his 16th All-Star game this season, which will be well-deserved. From the time he entered the league in 2007 up until now, Durant has played at a high level and has established himself as one of the best on the court.

His accolades speak for themselves. Durant is a winner and knows what it takes to win at the highest level. From the championships to the individual awards, Durant has left a significant impact on the game of basketball. There’s no question he will go down as one of the greatest to ever play this game. No one knows how much longer Durant will play, but one thing you can count on is that he’s going to go out and leave his all on the floor every time he steps on that court. This season he has a chance to help Houston make a deep postseason run and chase an NBA title.
