Detroit lost an iconic voice this week in Ken Calvert. The former radio broadcaster who called many games during the “Bad Boys” era for the Pistons has passed away at the age of 72.
Calvert spent 45 years in the radio industry. Of course, he’s most famously known for his work with the Pistons.
With that said, former Pistons star Isiah Thomas paid homage to Calvert on Wednesday night.
Thomas posted this brief message on social media: “Rest in Peace Ken Calvert.” He also shared a video of the Pistons’ championship rally introductions from 1989.

Calvert’s wife said he passed away unexpectedly after dealing with a short-term illness. He died at his home in Oakland County.
“I just want everyone to know how much he appreciated his fans and their support,” Ann Calvert said .
Pistons fans around the world will always remember Calvert’s voice, there’s no doubt.
Our thoughts are with Calvert’s loved ones during this difficult time.
