A look at the best performances thus far at the 2025 NFL Combine.
My week down at the 2025 NFL Combine will come to an end on Saturday, as the final group of draft prospects—the offensive linemen—meet with the media on Saturday morning. Thus will end my first NFL Combine experience, and a pretty good one, if I do say so myself.
This week, I have tried my best to get to know the 2025 NFL Draft prospects on a more personal level, spending the week much like I believe the Detroit Lions do: asking questions to get to know the person behind the player. Granted, my scope is far smaller—spending less time with fewer players—but I’ve enjoyed getting to know some players I think may be on the Lions’ radar. If you’ve missed my ongoing NFL Combine series, you can check out each position below.
With the event coming to a close, let’s answer one big question about the event:
Who has been the biggest standout of the NFL Combine thus far?
My answer: Alabama LB Jihaad Campbell and Stanford WR Elic Ayomanor.
Campbell was authentic and confident in his media session, then followed it up with an incredible showing during the on-field drills.
Jihaad Campbell is a LB prospect in the 2025 draft class. He scored an unofficial 9.85 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 45 out of 2893 LB from 1987 to 2025.

At this point, I don’t think Campbell will make it to the Lions, but if they’re feeling a bit aggressive on Day 1, I wouldn’t hate them grabbing Campbell.
As for Ayomanor, we’ll see how he performs at the on-field drills. If he can display good long-range speed with his size (6-foot-2, 210), I think he’ll be on the Lions’ radar. They’ve already had a formal meeting with him, and based on his media session on Friday, I think he’s an absolute perfect “football character” fit in Detroit.
