Which Detroit Lions players are you hoping to hear more about in Week 2 of training camp?
Week 1 of Detroit Lions training camp is in the books, as the team has a day off Sunday following four straight days of practice. The team will resume practice on Monday morning, with the expectation being that pads will come on for the first time all offseason.
Each day, we here at Pride of Detroit have offered you both a daily observations post here on the website and a video podcast recap to our Pride of Detroit Direct subscribers. But with there being nearly 90 players on the roster, we certainly haven’t talked about every single player yet.
That leads us to our Question of the Day:
Which Lions player do you want to hear more about at training camp?
My answer: Admittedly, my observations have been a bit lacking when it comes to line play—particularly on offense. Part of that is because the pads haven’t come on yet, part of it is because line play is hard to diagnose with the naked eye without the benefit of replay.
And while the Lions starting offensive line is settled, there are plenty of interesting battles among the depth. Can Colby Sorsdal show enough growth to overtake Dan Skipper as the backup tackle? How will rookie Giovanni Manu respond to a huge increase in talent level? When healthy enough from his illness, how does Christian Mahogany fit into the picture?
So I’m just going to cheat and say the Lions’ offensive line depth. But I’d love to hear which players you want to hear more about, and we’ll do our best to take a closer look next week. Scroll down to the comment section and let us know!
