The Detroit Lions will reportedly soon unveil a new look.
Per Pride of Detroit’s Jeremy Reisman , Lions president Rod Wood announced Monday that they’ll reveal new uniforms before the 2024 NFL Draft. The draft starts on Thursday, April 25.
The Lions haven’t deviated too far from their usual look over the decades. Few colors are more synonymous with a sports franchise than Detroit’s Honolulu blue.
Detroit wears white jerseys with blue pants on the road and blue and silver at home. The Lions made their last uniform change when eliminating a black trim after the 2016 season.
Last year, the Lions wore new gray alternate uniforms with Honolulu blue helmets during a Week 8 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. They drew mixed reviews , with the helmets generally drawing a warmer reception than the all-gray apparel.
Some fans won’t want to see the Lions stray too far from their vintage look. More superstitious supporters may also fear change following a 12-5 season that resulted in their first playoff wins since 1992.
Detroit was on the cusp of making its first Super Bowl appearance. However, the NFC North champions squandered a 24-7 lead to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.
Fans will soon get a glimpse of their new uniforms for 2024.
