With the NFL Draft officially in the rearview mirror, the New Orleans Saints have decided to add more depth to their secondary.
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo , former Detroit Lions defensive back Will Harris is taking his talents to the Big Easy.
It’s a one-year deal for Harris and the Saints. The exact details are unknown at this time.
Harris, a former third-round pick out of Boston College, has appeared in 81 games for the Lions over the past five years.
In 2023, Harris had 18 tackles, two pass break-ups and a fumble recovery for the Lions. Overall, he had 246 tackles, 14 passes defended, two forced fumbles and two interceptions during his time in the Motor City.
The Saints already have a ton of talent at cornerback with Kool-Aid McKinstry, Paulson Adebo, Marshon Lattimore and Alontae Taylor. What they’re lacking at the moment is depth at safety.
Harris has played safety in the NFL, so he could be of service to the Saints this fall. Of course, he’ll need to earn his spot on the 53-man roster in training camp.
