Meko and Morgan are back on the Pride of Detroit YouTube channel to discuss five things to watch for as Detroit Lions training camp kicks off.
Everyone, we made it. Detroit Lions training camp is here and that means the regular season is just around the corner. Coming off of what was a really successful season in 2023, this Lions team has their sights set on bigger and better things in 2024.
While most of the big questions surrounding starters are answered, there are still quite a few key battles that will be taking place in other areas of the roster. My friend Meko Scott and I broke down five things to watch for as training camp ramps up over the course of the next few weeks.
Who will take control of the WR3 competition? Will it be veterans Kalif Raymond or Donovan Peoples-Jones, or will second-year Antoine Green be the one to step up? Sticking with the offense, who will end up as tight end or running back three? The top two are locked up at each position, but beyond that, there is plenty of opportunity for someone to grab playing time.
On the defensive side of the ball, who is going to take the snaps opposite of defensive tackle Alim McNeill while newly-acquired DJ Reader heals up from the injury he suffered late last season? We also have a lengthy discussion about how the secondary will look, and a brief chat about the upcoming kicker competition between Michael Badgley and Jake Bates.
You can watch the entire video here , and as always, please be sure to like and subscribe over at the Pride of Detroit YouTube Channel. It truly means a lot to us and helps the channel grow as the regular season gets closer.
