Time to make your predictions for the Super Bowl contender in the 2024-25 NFL playoffs.
The NFL playoffs are just days away, and like always, there’s a strong group of teams that still have their Super Bowl dreams alive. As a reminder, here are the teams that are still alive and their seeds.
Remember: For the first round of the playoffs, the 2 seed plays the 7 seed, the 3 seed plays the 6 seed, and the 4 seed plays the 5 seed.
AFC:
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Buffalo Bills
- Baltimore Ravens
- Houston Texans
- Los Angeles Chargers
- Pittsburgh Steelers
- Denver Broncos
NFC:
- Detroit Lions
- Philadelphia Eagles
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Los Angeles Rams
- Minnesota Vikings
- Washington Commanders
- Green Bay Packers
The Wild Card round runs through Saturday from Monday, with every team but the Lions and Chiefs in action. I know you already know that, but I like typing it out.
Anyways, with the start of the playoffs, it’s time to make some predictions:
Who will be the Super Bowl representatives from the NFC and AFC?
My answer: Listen, I’ve rolled with the Lions all year. They were my NFC Champion pick in the preseason, and I’m certainly not changing that now. I may have thought differently before Sunday night’s game against the Vikings, but that defensive performance has me thinking Detroit can beat anyone when their defense plays like that. I do think the Eagles present the biggest challenge, simply because they can challenge the Lions in the trenches on both sides of the ball.
The AFC is a little tougher. I believe it will be a battle between the top three teams: the Chiefs, Bills, and Ravens. Of the three, the Bills have probably been the most impressive, consistent team, the Ravens are the statistical darling, while the Chiefs cannot be ignored as repeat defending champions.
I know their wins haven’t been very impressive, but I’m still going with the Chiefs. Winning close games may be considered random by some people, but when you have Patrick Mahomes, that gives you a pretty big end-of-game advantage. Plus, the Chiefs are certainly playing better now than they were earlier in the season. So, yeah, I’m going with the defending champions who are hitting their stride.
