The 2025 NFL Draft is chock-full of defensive linemen. Which player would be the best selection for the Detroit Lions in the first round?
We’re back with another edition of our SB Nation Reacts Survey. With the 2025 NFL Draft just days away, we continue to keep our focus on the big event, and once again have turned to the good folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook to help formulate our question:
Last week, we learned that FanDuel Sportsbook has betting odds available where fans can wager on which position group the Lions are going to select with their first pick . The favorite was the defensive lineman group, which includes both defensive tackles and edge rushers, and the betting line was set at -190. As expected, the majority of Lions fans agreed with FanDuel Sportsbook and nearly 50% of the vote went in that direction .
And that sets up this week’s question. If the Lions indeed intend to pick a defensive lineman with their first selection: Which defensive lineman do you prefer the Lions draft?
To help us narrow down the choices, we turned our attention to The Athletic’s Dane Brugler’s latest rankings . Because the Lions hold the No. 28 pick in the draft, we confidently eliminated Abdul Carter, Mason Graham, or Javon Walker from our options, as Brugler has all three listed as top-five prospects. Beyond that, we have included the seven remaining defensive linemen projected to be selected in the first round for fans to choose from.
- Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Texas A&M
- Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall
- Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon
- Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia
- Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE, Boston College
- Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
- Walter Nolen, DT, Mississippi
So, who’s your favorite pairing for the Detroit Lions ? Vote in the poll below, sound off in the comments, and keep an eye out later in the week for the results.
