Our latest SB Nation Reacts survey asks fans to grade the Lions first round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Detroit Lions selected Ohio State defensive tackle Tyleik Williams with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft , and SB Nation wants to know what grade fans would give the selection.
Williams is arguably the best run-stuffing defensive lineman in this draft, which will fit in perfectly with the Lions’ defensive philosophy. At 6-foot-3, 334, Williams is a plug-and-play nose tackle, but the wealth of his experience comes at the 3-technique in college. His pass rushing is a work in progress, but there are some fundamental traits—like a quick first step—that are encouraging.
While the Lions are loaded at nose tackle in 2025, there are paths to the field early and an opportunity to win a starting role in the near future. With Alim McNeill injured and expected to miss a good portion of the season, Williams’ experience at the 3-technique could help mitigate the loss of snaps. Additionally, Brodric Martin is the only nose tackle signed beyond this season, and with his roster spot surely in jeopardy, Williams will likely have an inside track for a permanent starting role in 2026.
