Politician/sore loser Chris Christie says Lions HC Dan Campbell has ‘no class’

Former NJ governor Chris Christie blasted Dan Campbell because he’s a sore loser Cowboys fans.

It’s not exactly news when a politician says something loud, dumb, and uninformed, but I am willing to make an exception for gasbag Chris Christie this week. That’s because the former New Jersey governor said something so unbelievably stupid and out-of-pocket that he deserves some extra mocking.

Christie is a noted Dallas Cowboys fan, and after the Detroit Lions ’ 47-9 shellacking of the Cowboys this past week, oooooh he was rootin’ tootin’ mad.

Joining Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo this week on the “Mad Dog Unleashed” radio show, Christie took aim at Lions coach Dan Campbell, angry that he ran up the score on his precious Cowboys. The radio host asked if Christie had issues with how the Lions played that game. Needless to say, he did.

“That’s Dan Campbell. He’s got no class. Never has.” Christie said. “So, it’s fine. Dan Campbell, that’s the way he is, and what goes around, comes around. There’ll be a time when the worm is turned.”

Christie seems most offended by the fact that it was his Cowboys that took the brunt of the punishment when the Lions were really angry at the refs over last year’s game between the two teams.

“I just think that it’s misdirected. Dan Campbell’s angry because the referees got the call wrong in the game a year ago,” Christie said. “Well then run that play on Roger Goodell.”

Outside of that being a completely nonsensical statement, this is a clear mischaracterization of who Campbell is. He’s not this hot-head coach who lashes out at teams and doesn’t care about the consequences. He’s got a ton of love and respect for other teams, and that’s especially true of a Cowboys franchise that holds a special place in his heart. Not only did he grow up an hour outside of Dallas, but he played three seasons for the Cowboys.

“Growing up in Texas, Dallas was the—you grew up, you’re listening to (Cowboys Play by Play Announcer) Brad Sham out on the radio, out in the middle of nowhere, listening to these games,” Campbell recalled last week. “And so, it was always kind of special in that regard.”

And, in general, Campbell is extremely well-regarded by both his players, peers, and people around the NFL. In other words, Christie is the sorest of losers. Maybe direct your anger at your best friend Jerry Jones for doing nothing to make the Cowboys better this offseason.
