Packers QB Jordan Love suffered an injury late on Friday night and could not finish the game.
The Green Bay Packers were in the national spotlight on Friday night, opening their season in Brazil with an NFC bout against the Philadelphia Eagles . It turned out to be a nightmare of an evening for the Packers. Not only did they lose the game to the Eagles, 34-29, but on the final drive of the game, starting quarterback Jordan Love appeared to suffer a lower body injury, looked to be in serious pain, and could not finish the game.
On the play, Love was under pressure and trying to get rid of the ball. On his way to the ground, his left leg got rolled under Eagles defender Jalen Carter.

At this point, there is no update on Love’s condition, only speculation. We’ll update this post when any news breaks. Packers coach Matt LaFleur did not have an update in his post-game press conference.
UPDATE: Per Tom Pelissero, Love’s ACL is intact, but more tests are incoming regarding other injuries:
Initial tests indicated Jordan Love’s ACL is intact. But there’s a wide range of outcomes based on additional scans, which will occur when the team gets back to Green Bay later today. https://t.co/yfwxQVT5vp

UPDATE 2: Per Ian Rapoport, it’s an MCL sprain for Love , and according to Adam Schefter, it won’t be a season-ending injury, but he’s expected to miss time:

UPDATE 3: Pelissero says the initial timeline for Love’s return is 3-6 weeks , but there’s “early optimism” he could return sooner rather than later.
The Packers’ primary backup quarterback right now is Malik Willis, whom the Packers traded for just two weeks ago. Willis stepped in for the final two plays of the game: an incomplete pass and a sack.
This offseason, the Packers handed Love a huge contract extension worth $220 million over four years. Love only has 17 starts to his name, but he was one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the second half of the 2023 season. That helped Green Bay upset the Dallas Cowboys in the opening round of the playoffs and nearly do the same to the 49ers in the Divisional Round.
On Friday night, Love completed 17-of-34 passes for 260 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in a losing effort.
