Which Lions player has the most to prove against the Chiefs?
Next up on the preseason schedule are the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs . And to make things more interesting than your typical preseason bout, Chiefs coach Andy Reid has stated that his starters, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, will play the entire first half of Saturday’s game .
For the Detroit Lions, this will provide the coaching staff with a unique opportunity to get a good look at a lot of players they are attempting to evaluate against one of the best teams in the NFL. And while it is still unclear how many starters the Lions will have suit up against Kansas City (don’t expect many), there will be plenty to watch from a Lions’ fan perspective—regardless of who is dressed for the Honolulu blue.
That brings us to today’s Question of the Day:
Who has the most to prove against the Chiefs?
My Answer: I am going with every wide receiver not named Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, or Kalif Raymond. Hopefully the weather will cooperate a bit more than Week 1 of the preseason where the Lions were essentially trying to play a football game in a tropical storm up in New Jersey.
If quarterbacks Nate Sudfeld and Hendon Hooker can establish some sort of rhythm on the field, it should make it a bit easier to get a real evaluation of where receivers like Daurice Fountain, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Kaden Davis and others are thus far through training camp.
How about you? Who do you think has the most to prove against the Chiefs? Let us know by leaving a comment with your answer at the bottom of the page.
