The Detroit Lions are dealing with a lot of injuries but several replacement players have filled in admirably. Which replacement player has impressed you the most?
Despite their rotten injury luck , the Detroit Lions have been able to weather the storm. They are still in control of their own destiny thanks to so many different players contributing and filling in for injuries.
Today’s Question of the Day is…
Which Lions player filling in for injury has impressed you the most?
In lieu of the ridiculous amount of injuries across the defensive line, the Lions seem to have a new player dressing up for them every week. One player who has really stepped up since joining the team midway through the season is Al-Quadin Muhammad.
After jumping around from team to team since entering the league in 2017, Muhammad joined the team in October, signing with the practice squad. Since getting his opportunity with the Lions, Muhammad has been really solid when rushing the passer. In just five games, he’s already got the sixth-most pressures on the team with 16, only one less than Josh Paschal.
Muhammad has been efficient with his pass rushing snaps, and according to Pro Football Focus, he has a Pass Rushing Productivity rating of 8.4—A formula that combines sacks, hits, and hurries relative to how many times they rush the passer—which is ranked 20th out of 117 qualifying edge rushers with at least 100 pass rushing snaps this year. Aidan Hutchinson (1st) and ZaDarius Smith (t-8th) are the only two Lions that rank ahead of him.
Your turn. Which player(s) have impressed you the most when filling in for injuries this season? Leave your thoughts and answers in the comments below.
