Happy new year! What was your favorite Lions moment in 2024?
Happy new year! There was a lot to be grateful for when it came to Detroit Lions football in 2024. The Lions won their first NFC North division title! Can you believe that was in the same calendar year we just wrapped up? Feels like forever ago. They went on to send Matthew Stafford packing in the playoffs in poetic fashion for their first home playoff win at Ford Field. They won a thrilling divisional round playoff game against the Buccaneers, shattering the noise record that folks like you set just a week prior against the Rams.
And that was all last season! We’ve had an entire 14-2 run since then, breaking almost every Lions record when it comes to road wins, total wins, points scored, passing accuracy, margin of victory, and so much more. The Lions have expelled demons of the past in the Seahawks , Cowboys, and 49ers . They’ve shown the world what Detroit Lions football is on primetime television. They’ve gone into every road opponent’s stadium and walked away victorious.
Question of the day: What was your favorite Detroit Lions moment in 2024?
My answer: Of course my answer has to be the Lions’ first playoff win in 30+ years against their former franchise quarterback. Everything about that win was straight out of a movie. So, given that’s probably your choice too, I’ll share my second-favorite: the “Monday Night Football” victory over the Seahawks.
That was the most fun Lions game I’ve ever been to. The Lions faced a worthy opponent and picked them apart. The Lions didn’t win because the other team faltered; the other team played great, the Lions just played better. Jared Goff was perfect and David Montgomery imposed his will upon Seattle for the world to see. To top it off, the Lions did it in their all-black uniforms. It was such a thrilling victory from start to finish.
What was your favorite Lions moment in 2024? Winning the NFC North? The first home playoff game? The second home playoff game? Beating the Rams again in Week 1? Goff’s perfect game against the Seahawks? Humiliating the Cowboys on national television in their house? There are so many to choose from.
