There are plenty to choose from.
That was a heck of a statement win on Saturday for the Detroit Lions , who are now 10-4 on the season and are so close to clinching their first playoff berth in seven years. It was complete and utter domination once the team got settled in after a slow start. The offense scored a touchdown on five-straight drives, while the defense played their best game since Week 8 against the Raiders. It was great to see so many individuals making spectacular plays, which leads us to today’s Question of the Day…
What was your favorite play from Sunday’s win over the Broncos?
My answer: Sam LaPorta’s 19-yard touchdown to give the Lions a 7-0 lead.

After three possessions of punts, the Lions broke open the scoring with this beauty from LaPorta. Coming out of college, LaPorta’s ability to gain yards after the catch was arguably his best trait and he continues to show everyone why. It’s a beautiful thing to see LaPorta already turning into one of the best players at his position in just his rookie season. This was one of LaPorta’s three touchdowns on the day, bringing him up to nine on the season (tied with Jordan Addison for the most of any rookie).
Here are some of the other outstanding plays that were up for consideration:
- Ifeatu Melifonwu’s sack fumble and Isaiah Buggs’ 33-yard fumble return
- Amon’Ra St. Brown’s 15-yard touchdown reception and flip in the end zone
- Josh Paschal’s sack on third-and-13 to give the defense their fourth-straight stop
- Jahmyr Gibbs’ explosive 34-yard run with a few impressive broken tackles
- Sam LaPorta’s hat trick TD on fourth-and-2 and Goff’s fifth TD
Let’s hear from you. Which was your favorite play? Was it one of the ones listed, or something else?
