What are your thoughts on the Lions putting off their overseas trip for at least another season?
With the NFL’s push towards making football and even more global game, it is only a matter of time until the Detroit Lions make their way overseas for a regular season matchup. However, we can safely say that trip will not be taking place in 2025, with NFL executive vice president of player health and safety Jeff Miller noting that the league will have seven international games in the upcoming season.
There are games set to be played in Germany, Spain, Brazil, Ireland, and three games in London. Unfortunately for those international Lions’ fans, Detroit does not play any road games against those teams set to host the international series of games in 2025.
And while it won’t be taking place in 2025, I think a trip across the pond is imminent for a Lions’ team that has grown immensely popular over the last several years. A trip to Germany would make sense given that the Lions were awarded marketing rights there last year , and have a superstar with ties to the region in All-Pro wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.
That brings us to today’s Question of the Day:
How do you feel about the Lions not playing overseas in 2025?
Answer: Personally, I am a bit relieved. We are expecting our first child later this year, and with everything going on, it would be a bit tough to swing a trip overseas to see the Lions play.
With that said, I know there are a ton of fans that are really excited about seeing their favorite team play in person, so I am hoping it happens soon. Maybe as soon as the 2026 season? Who’s ready for a trip to Germany?!
