With 2025 Detroit Lions training camp starting in just days, are you headed to Allen Park?
It’s the best time of the year: training camp is around the corner. Technically, the Detroit Lions play a real (preseason) football game this month, with the Hall of Fame game against the Chargers kicking off on July 31. Rookies began reporting Wednesday, July 16, meanwhile veterans are rolling into town on July 19.
With both ticket prices and interest levels skyrocketing since the Lions got good a couple years ago, training camp has become the next best alternative to going to live games. The Lions are embracing it, and they have a really enjoyable training camp experience with food, games, giveaways, alumni meet and greets, and more.
According to the Lions website, all 2025 training camp tickets have sold out in less than a day. Did you get yours?
Question of the day: Are you going to Lions training camp this year?
My answer: I personally am not, but I’ve heard of more friends than ever trying to get their hands on tickets. The Lions really are a hot topic these days.
I used to go to training camp more often under the Caldwell/Patricia regimes, and it was really cool, especially when the Lions were struggling. That may sound silly, but when the Lions weren’t good, the crowds were pretty small and it was easy to get signatures and face time with a lot of your favorite players. With those checked off my bucket list, I’ve pivoted my attention recently to attending a couple road games every year, which has been a new adventure.
