Lions’ cornerback Terrion Arnold is changing his number to 6 to honor his late Alabama teammate, Khyree Jackson.
One story that came out of the number shakeup the Detroit Lions released earlier this week was a touching gesture by Lions’ cornerback Terrion Arnold.
Having played his college football at the University of Alabama, Arnold remains close with plenty of former Crimson Tide teammates, including Minnesota Vikings ’ cornerback Khyree Jackson, who was tragically lost in a car accident back in his home state of Maryland in July of 2024.
Arnold wore the number zero throughout his rookie season in Detroit, but with star running back Jahmyr Gibbs now rocking 0 on offense, the second-year cornerback went with 6 as a way to honor his friend , who wore No. 6 at Alabama.

And now, onto the rest of today’s notes:
- Philadelphia Eagles ’ running back Saquon Barkley was on “Hot Ones” this week, where he mentioned how Barry Sanders will always be his favorite running back of all time.
- Along with star edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson , Lions linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez also appears to be making good progress in his rehab.

- The Lions aren’t scared of their daunting road schedule in 2025. Richard Silva of The Detroit News wrote about that, as well as Lions’ coach Dan Campbell’s plans for more joint practices later this year.
- There is a big card show with several past and current Lions taking place in Novi at the end of May.
- The Lions released some behind the scenes shots from the Ford Field naming rights video.

- Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press wrote about why the Lions believe what they have is good enough to win a championship.
- Birkett also wrote about the price of pass rushers, and how that won’t stop Lions’ general manager Brad Holmes from getting a mega-deal done with Aidan Hutchinson.
The price for pass rushers soared this offseason, maybe even faster than Brad Holmes expected. But that won’t stop the Lions from doing a deal with Aidan Hutchinson that could make him the game’s highest paid non QB. https://t.co/4RKG435RIh via @freep
