In the newest episode of the ‘St. Brown Brothers Podcast, Detroit Lions’ receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown raved about coach Dan Campbell’s natural ability to command a room.
If you are familiar with the personality of Detroit Lions ’ wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, then you are probably not surprised by the fact that he really likes his head coach, Dan Campbell.
The two likely share a lot of common beliefs as it pertains to the game of football, and just three years after both arrived in Detroit, the two have been essential to the Lions’ turnaround.
“He’s the guy, man,” said St. Brown of his head coach. “His speeches are actually—I’m used to his speeches. They’re good. You think they’re OD (overdone), but I can’t imagine a different coach like, they’re probably not even close to as good as his are.”
Campbell certainly has shown his knack for capturing a locker room, with both a unique and powerful message. Take last week, for example, when he gathered all the Lions players from previous regimes together to recognize what a special moment winning the NFC North was to those players—who had been around when times were tough.
“Like I see other coaches in the winning locker room, and they’re not like Dan,” St. Brown said later. “For him, speaking, it’s natural for him. He knows how to hit the players.”
