Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press wrote about the Lions’ plan for free agency, and how leadership is likely to stay the course.
Since arriving in 2021, both general manager Brad Holmes and coach Dan Campbell have had very specific ideas on how to build up the Detroit Lions into a winning organization. Now, with so much in place, some people might be expecting them to change things up with their approach.
Still, as we get closer to 2025 free agency, it appears the Lions likely won’t deviate from their previous strategies. Build up the entire roster, accumulate depth, and set yourself up to do what makes the most sense when the 2025 NFL Draft rolls around in April. Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press wrote about how the Lions appear ready to double down on what has already worked for them.
“That’s been me and (head coach) Dan (Campbell)’s vision from the get-go” is to build depth, said Holmes at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. “But I think it’s even more clear and more evident now how important and critical it is (with) the attrition that we faced this past season, being that we had the depth that we had and that we were so focused on.”
